Removing Old Tint
Window Tinting Packages
Window Tinting does take some skill both for homes and cars, and is not for everyone. However, if you have a good do-it-yourself mentality you should be able to get a professional looking end result with the help of our kits and instructions.
Your kit comes with a professional grade metalized film. The exact same kind used by the professionals.
Metalized film or metalic tint means that a metal layer is built into the construction of the film. We use a hybrid metal/dye film the dye layer gives it that rich grey appearance and the metalized layer gives it the heat rejecting performance and fade resistance.
Plan on spending half a day to tint your car. Most cars take the average do-it-yourself beginner about 4 hours.
You'll find the video covers everything you need to know to tint your car or home. Including things like how to prep the windows, cutting techniques, how to peel film the easy way, how to fix and/or cover up your mistakes. both our automotive and residential videos cover the process start to finish.
Because the there is no control over the installation process, the manufacture cannot provide a warranty on the film. This is however, the same film that they give a lifetime warranty when professionally done, so you can expect many years of use.
The only thing you will need is a heat gun (hair blow dryers don't get hot enough) for automotive window tinting. A heat gun is necessary if you want to heat shrink curved windows. Other than that all the tools you will need are provided in the residential and automotive tool kit.
heat shrinking of curved windows is covered in our automotive tinting video. By applying heat to wrinkles in the film you can heat form them to the curve of the window. You can use any heat gun from your local hardware store.
Yes you can. You will need to email us with the size and type of window film you need and we will price it for you. You don't need to buy a complete package just for one window.
You can buy a kit precut to fit your car windows at DoItYourselfTint.
